Douglas, James

James Douglas uit het Engelse Loxford Hall (Essex) was tuinman bij Mr. Francis Whitburn.

Hij bekwam rond 1869 een aardbei die hij naar zijn woonplaats benoemde : ‘Loxford Hall Seedling’, uit een kruising tussen ‘Frogmore late pine ‘ en ‘La Constante’

In 1880 schreef James Douglas een boek ‘Hardy Florists’ Flowers : their cultivation and management.’
